Maps, Art, Exploration

Contours, shaded relief, hidden river channels, peaks, slope… I am fascinated by the intersection of natural and digital design, of scientific data and art.

However, beyond the datasets and the mapping process, I love cartography as a way of discovering and connecting with place. My work is inspired by my own explorations and adventures in remote places: from the weathered granite of the California Sierras, to the craggy peaks and old growth of the Pacific Northwest - and beyond.

Through my work, I hope to inspire awe, adventure, and a deeper connection with wild spaces.
